What are some major accomplishments you have had since your Sweet publication?
I have just published a mini-chapbook, ‘Spring Days‘, at Yavanika Press. I was also published in Best of Australian Poems 2024.

Can you tell us about a current/ongoing project that you’re excited about?
I’m working on a full-length poetry book (another one!) from my most recent poems.
Who is your favorite author?
At the moment, I love reading most Zen or Chan poets, especially the Chinese poet, Tao Chien.
What is your favorite poem/essay/book?
One of my favourite poems is from Tao Chien, ‘Home Again Among Gardens and Fields’ (translated by David Hinton)
What inspires you to write?
Nature, the books I read, life in general
What are you reading right now?
Two books on the Japanese Zen poet, Ikkyu, and ‘Make a Shield From Wisdom‘ on the Ismaili poet and philosopher, Nasir-i Khusraw.

What is your favorite sweet?
The Greek dessert, Baklava (it’s actually Turkish, but I love the Greek version, as it’s soaked in honey syrup!). I don’t have a specific recipe, but this one looks great: https://www.oliveandmango.com/easy-greek-baklava/

Thank you, Ion, for taking the time to reconnect with us again! We look forward to seeing more of your work in the future.
