What are some major accomplishments you have had since your Sweet publication?

I started in the MFA program and moved down to San Antonio. Three of my poems were featured on The Broadkill Review’s podcast. I was recently chosen as a finalist for Crazyhorse’s Lynda Hull Memorial Poetry Prize. This last winter I had a poem published in Small Orange Journal.

Can you tell us about a current/ongoing project that you’re excited about?

I’m finishing a manuscript for my first chapbook.

Who is your favorite author?

This is a hard one that changes all the time, but I’m currently crushing on Paul Tran, Tiana Clark, Carlie Hoffman, and Taylor Byas

What inspires you to write?

Living life

What are you reading right now?

Today I’m reading “City of Departures” by Helen Tookey

What is your favorite sweet? We would love for you to share a recipe or link to place that serves it. Pictures are great, too!

Lately I’ve most often been making shortbread cookies, which are super easy to make and insanely delicious. I usually double the recipe and freeze the finished cookies to keep them fresh. My grandmother made the best and easiest chocolate ice box cake. This recipe looks similar. It’s really so simple, light and delicious.
