COLOR

Most of us see the world in color, though if you’ve ever tried to agree on a paint color, you know that what looks green to one might look more blue to another, and the varieties of cream are mind-boggling. Why do those paint names sound lovely or ridiculous, evocative or boring? What color do you associate with your mother, your best friend? Are you one of those lucky people who smells colors, or hears them?

This class includes four weekly sample readings and prompts, with your poem or short cnf piece (under 1000 words) due the following week. Participants will receive written responses from me and 2 fellow participants, chosen randomly by the software; each week you will be required to write responses for 2 fellow participants. In written feedback, we will always emphasize support, encouragement, and respect, working to describe what's going on in a piece before moving on to questions and suggestions.
