Worlds (asynchronous)

August 12-September 16, 2026

$150 USD per person (Please contact me if you’re interested but cannot afford the fee and we will work something out.)

WORLDS

We write about the world—Wordsworth observing The world is too much with us—as though the world is just one thing. But aren’t there many worlds? The underwater world, the world inhabited by tiny creatures, the world of wealth, the worlds of history & prehistory…in this class, we’ll explore different worlds, even if the finished piece doesn’t end up using that word.

This class includes four weekly sample readings and prompts, with your poem or short cnf piece (under 1000 words) due the following week. Participants will receive written responses from me and 2 fellow participants, chosen randomly by the software; each week you will be required to write responses for 2 fellow participants. In written feedback, we will always emphasize support, encouragement, and respect, working to describe what's going on in a piece before moving on to questions and suggestions.
