Fruit Fish

did you know
if you remove the bones
& make a hollow inside the body
fill it with ripe colors: kiwi, mango, lemon
it will become something new
brightness you can eat
that eats you too
& then you grow scales
twitch your fins
until water answers
surrounds you like night
each swish a constellation
point yourself east
swim steady for light
