Renée E. D’Aoust’s previous essay for Sweet, “Gratitude is my Terrain,” was named one of “30 Most Transformative Essays of 2016” by Sundress. “Bark Wing” was created in collaboration with Deborah Poe’s chapbook “Wing,” and the physical iteration of “Bark Wing” appeared in the 2017 Handmade/Homemade exhibit at Pace University. D’Aoust is the author of Body of a Dancer (Etruscan Press). She is a 2017 Summer Scholar at the University of Washington’s “City, Urban: Environmental Urban Humanities” NEH Summer Institute.
