Kristine Langley Mahler is a graduate student at the University of Nebraska-Omaha and Associate Nonfiction Editor at Pithead Chapel who has recently published essays in Tahoma Literary Review, Rock & Sling, Brevity‘s Nonfiction Blog, and true: the Proximity blog. Kristine is the recipient of Crab Orchard Reviews 2016 Rafael Torch Literary Nonfiction Award, and she is currently researching a grant-funded nonfiction project about her Quebecois great-great-grandfather (John-Baptist) and immigration/inhabitation on native land. After a childhood in Oregon, adolescence in North Carolina, and high school in Indiana, Kristine has dug in her heels on the Nebraskan prairie, where she bakes Cortland apple pies with the fruits of her formerly-suburban lawn.
