At Sweet, we believe the more poems and essays in the world, the better. Our capitalist society and the competitive publishing world are often discouraging to writers; we plan to be encouraging. Our classes are designed to get you writing and provide the kind of feedback that keeps you writing. Our instructors won’t lie to you, but they will meet you where you are, work to understand what you’re trying to do, and make sure you see your strengths. The instructor and your classmates will challenge you to seek the nuanced insights and face the hard content by discussing elements of craft and their potential effects on the reader.
