The Jaws of Life
Suspend you by a seat belt
upside down the person you
love crawls out of the wreck
it hurts no one ever told you rain
falls in the direction of your life
people don’t wear skin bones out
no one comes back for you mud
grass cut you open to the sinew
of the world you will walk again

Her broadcast work has received an Emmy and numerous Writers Guild Awards.
